Our sustainability journey

Taking actions to create a greener future

We believe the design and architectural communities have the power to drive sustainability forward in the built environment. But, they can't do it alone. As a manufacturer and designer of architectural products, we're renewing our commitments and increasing actions to reduce environmental impacts now, and in the future.

Actions speak louder than words

Actions speak louder than words

The design community relies on us to provide sustainable products that make a positive, long-term difference – and we're on a mission to deliver on that commitment.

Our corporate strategy includes focusing on environmental and community initiatives, as well as embedding sustainability values into our business operating practices and products. We're also taking steps to formalise reporting around our efforts, so we can hold ourselves more accountable.

We believe these efforts will help designers make better, more informed decisions.

Working together, we'll all create a greener future.

Our commitment to sustainability

Employee-led Initiatives

Autex employees make a difference every day. We recognise and encourage individual actions as much as the larger, more coordinated efforts. Employees are mindful of their consumption at home. At work, they take part in initiatives that support sustainability, including wellness programs. They happily recycle in the office, and plug into EV car charging stations, because they know every little bit counts.

Materials

We’re proud of our diverse range of polyester products that use P.E.T. plastics. These include our interior acoustics products, the GreenStuf® insulation range – manufactured in New Zealand – and a range of industrial products manufactured in Australia. While we’re doing our part reusing materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill, we want to do more as an organisation – and we will. We're actively looking at alternatives to P.E.T. plastic and what might be next.

Recycled Content

Our interior acoustics products, GreenStuf® insulation and other industrial products are made from 100% polyester fibre with a minimum of 45% previously recycled fibre – which is made from PET plastic. We are always striving to increase recycled content. However, we won't compromise on quality, durability, strength, lifespan, or the performance of our products.

Recycled Content Claims

We maintain strong relationships with our suppliers to ensure the highest standards for the quality of virgin and recycled fibre. We're up front and transparent when sharing our data regarding the amount of recycled content, so designers can trust the statements we make. While others may use “up to” claims, we simply don't go there. Our credibility is more important.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology

Autex brings engineering expertise and ingenuity to our manufacturing process in order to reduce waste and improve efficiency. We use heat and compression instead of adhesives or other materials that can be harmful to the environment. This process makes our products safe and ideal for use in a variety of commercial and residential applications worldwide.

Environmental Certifications

Autex holds numerous environmental certifications, including GreenRate, Declare, Red List Free, HPD, and CDPH Standard. These certifications are constantly being evaluated to ensure our products meet the highest environmental standards, so designers can always feel good about specifying Autex products.
